Trivia events FAQ

Q: Do we need tickets to attend the event, even if I'm not going to participate in the trivia event?
A: Yes, everyone attending must have a ticket, even if you're not answering questions. This helps us manage venue capacity and keep the competition fair for everyone!

Q: Our team has 6 people, and another friend wants to join. Can we be a team of 7?
A: Sorry, but we cap teams at 6 for a few reasons: 1) It helps us arrange seating more easily in different venues. 2) Bigger teams can get a little rowdy when discussing answers! 🎤 3) We like to keep things fair—teams of 7 or more would have an advantage over smaller teams.

Q: I didn’t get tickets, but my friends and I still want to go. What can we do?
A: If tickets sold out, don’t worry—reach out to us! If we can squeeze in more seating, we’ll do our best to accommodate you. Pro tip: Follow our local Facebook page for updates, as we bring back popular themes 2-3 times a year with brand-new questions and prizes. 📅

Q: Can I bring outside food or drinks?
A: Nope! Our awesome venues have their own food and drinks, and they don’t allow outside goodies. 🍔

Q: Do I need to bring anything for the trivia event?
A: Just your phone! 📱 We use interactive software, so you’ll need it to play. And if you're thinking about looking up answers—good luck! By the time you’ve found it, we’ll already be onto the next question. 😉 Just focus on having fun and let your trivia knowledge shine! 🎉

Q: Can minors attend the trivia?
A: While Tipsy Trivia doesn’t exclude minors, most venues do due to licensing restrictions. It’s best to contact the venue directly to check their rules. Standard ID rules apply! 🆔

Q: Why is the ticket price higher at checkout than advertised?
A: Our ticket platform, Showpass & Eventbrite, which adds a small service fee and applicable taxes. 

Q: I think my answer should’ve been accepted for a trivia question but it wasn’t. Who do I talk to?
A: We research our questions extensively, but occasionally, discrepancies can pop up. Keep in mind: for movie-themed trivia, book answers won’t be accepted, and vice versa. For movies with extended versions, we’ll specify which version the questions are based on. 🎬

Q: I was unhappy with the service at the venue where Tipsy Trivia was held.
A: If you had any issues with food or service, we definitely want to know about it—it’s part of the experience! While we’ll pass the feedback along to the venue, you’ll need to contact them directly for any compensation requests. 🍽️

Q: I wasn’t happy with the host during a Tipsy Trivia event. Who do I talk to?
